The Gonzales Unified School District is located in the heart of the Salinas Valley. The High School serves students from elementary school districts in the communities of Gonzales, Chualar, and Mission. The Unified District was officially established on July 1, 1997. Almost all the students come from families related to the agricultural industry, the heart of the area’s economy. The district’s student enrollment is predominantly Hispanic, at 98%.
The Gonzales Unified School District consists of four schools: La Gloria Elementary School (K-5), Fairview Middle School (6-8), Gonzales High School (9-12), and a State Preschool.
