Remodel & Upgrade: Project Progress
Gonzales Unified School District is excited to share the ongoing progress of the high school football stadium remodel and upgrade, a project made possible by the generous support of our community through the recent bond measures. Thanks to this collective effort, we are transforming our stadium into a modern facility that will serve students, athletes, and fans for years to come.

The Journey
04-15-2025
Work on the track is almost complete, with the rubber surface installed. There has been additional fencing put up around the track and walkways. The concession stand has been repainted and walkway at the top of the bleachers has been redone with concrete.

Crews have started putting the orange rubber on the inner part of the track and have begun prep work for the outer portion of the track. They have also done work creating a walkway in the parking lot to get to the front entrance of the stadium. Work on the ADA seating areas has continued, with additional concrete being poured.
03-27-2025
After a few weeks of rainy weather, crews have finished the turf on the football field. The goal posts have been installed for each end zone. Work on the bleachers to improve ADA seating as well as access to the field from the bleachers. New fencing has been put up around the field and walkways.

The High School logo, "Gonzales", & "Spartans" lettering has been laid out and is ready to be fully installed. The prepwork for walkway access to the visitor bleachers has started. Crews have also continued prepwork for ADA seating at the top of the bleachers near the snack bar.

Crews began pouring the asphalt for the track and continue to work on the turf near the end zones.

The track foundation has been prepped and is ready to have asphalt poured. The crews continue to work on the installation of the turf and work on the ADA seating area.

The installation of the turf is still in progress and crews continue to work on the ADA seating area near the top of the bleachers.

Crews have finished the prep on the field are starting to install the turf.

Crews continue to pour concrete in areas around the field and have started work around the concession stand for ADA seating.

Crews are continuing the prep work on the track and getting ready for more concrete to be poured.

Concrete and railing for ADA access to the bleachers has been completed. Crews are continuing the prep work on the track and field.

Crushed rock is being poured to create a sub-base that provides stability and support for the concrete ramp and other pathways to the bleachers.

Concrete is being poured to construct a new ramp that will provide easier access to the bleachers. The ramp is designed to improve accessibility, ensuring that all fans can enjoy the games with greater convenience and safety.
